I listened to the record last Wednesday on my flight to Los Angeles. Gave it one more go round before it went out into the world… one last little listen as being just mine. It’s brought me so much joy and company and peace, and I hope it will do the same for you.
I’ll be opening up for Braid for a few shows throughout the US this August. Check out the dates below.

It might be tough, but I’m really going to try to make it to the show at the Grog Shop. Owen and Braid on the same night would be awesome.
The first new song from The Shins since 2007 plays like something off of Chutes Too Narrow, with an upbeat rhythm and bright guitar that provides the perfect soundtrack for this 50 degree January day in Chicago. And even though the only remaining member from the original Shins line-up is James Mercer, the melodic guitar-pop remains as catchy as ever.
Mike Kinsella’s been hauling his guitar around Chicago to perform every song from the upcoming Owen album Ghost Townlive at various spots in his hometown.
The video above (for “O, Evelyn”) is my personal favorite so far, if only for the chat he has with two strangers walking by about halfway through.
Head to Owen’s YouTube channel to watch the first two videos and bookmark the page so you’ll be sure to catch the rest of his performances as they are posted.
